Long Distance Walk - Wester Ross Route
This is a circular walk on roads and good paths, with accommodation available at some point on each stage (best to book in advance during the height of the tourist season).

Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve
The first Nature Reserve in Britain, this was created in 1951. The reserve has an extensive range of walking and nature trails for all ages and abilities, and is open all year round. Wildlife includes Golden Eagles, Scottish Wildcat, Pine Marten, Dragonflies, and many rare birds. 48 square kilometres of Mountain, Woodland, and Lochside scenery. The Visitor Centre is 1.5km NW of Kinlochewe, on the A832 Inverness-Gairloch road. Telephone 01445 760 258 / 254 for more information or visit the National Nature Reserve website.

Argocat Extreme operate off road adventure rides that the whole family can take part in. Run by LANTRA qualified instructors (Kenny and Alasdair), you will receive a briefing and safety equipment before taking a ride in an amphibious Argocat around a specially designed circuit. Minke whale seen on boat trip
North West Cruises offer daily wildlife cruises around Gairloch and the beautiful Hebridean waters. With your local skipper's excellent knowledge of the area, you will have the opportunity to see the wide variety of wildlife that inhabits our enchanted Scottish coastline. Our boat, the Portia of Poole, sets sail on a daily basis seeking out Minke Whale and other cetaceans that are frequently seen in the area. Fishing trips are also available, offering the chance to catch a wide range of fish. Previous hauls have produced plentiful numbers of Mackerel, Haddock, Pollock, Coalie (Saithe) and Ling (a very tasty fish related to the Cod). No previous experience is necessary as guidance will be given by the skipper and his crew, and equipment is provided.

Shellfish Safaris as seen on BBC 1 and recommended by The Observer A warm welcome awaits you aboard MFV Zephyr. Let local skipper Ian, whose family have fished these waters for 200 years help you experience a working, traditional fishing boat. You will see lobster and prawn creels hauled from the deep and filled with interest. Hopefully we will see seals, porpoises and dolphins. No cramming, Ian only takes 5 passengers at a time. All trips leave from historic Dry Island Pier, Badachro and must be prebooked by phone. Trips are approx 1 and three quarter hours and the first trip of the day leaves at 10am and every 2 hours after that. Adults �17.50, Children �12.50. Evening mackerel trips also available.
